RAWALPINDI: The Punjab Revenue Authority has unearthed corruption of Rs 120 million in a case related to a land matter in the Gujar Khan area of Rawalpindi during the financial year of 2017-18.
According to the details, the corruption was reported during the last year of the PML-N tenure in the project of buying land in three locations of Gujar Khan from seven tehsils of Rawalpindi.
The Punjab Revenue Authority has confirmed that more than 1000 canals of land were selected for the dumping site while the purchase of land was approved by the Board of Directors of Rawalpindi Waste Management Company.
According to the report, approval was given to purchase 2400 canals of land at Mouza Sang, Pothi and Bijnial in Gujar Khan area as there was no capacity to dump more garbage at Losar in Rawalpindi.
On the other hand, the Board of Revenue re-measured the inclusive land in which 2100 canals of land were found instead of 2400 canals.
The board has also revealed that the inclusive land is already owned by the government, so the value of the remaining land is only Rs 80-90 million while the district administration of Rawalpindi has taken Rs 27o million.
