The district administration in Islamabad has issued a fresh notification outlining revised austerity measures, introducing updated working hours for various sectors across the federal capital.
According to the notification, gyms, sports facilities and paddle courts have been exempted from the earlier 8pm closure restriction and will now remain open till late night.
The move is aimed at facilitating citizens engaged in physical and recreational activities.
However, the administration has maintained the directive requiring shops, markets and shopping malls to close at 8pm as part of ongoing austerity measures. Restaurants, food outlets and grocery stores will be allowed to operate until 10pm.
Similarly, wedding halls, marquees and other commercial event venues will continue to shut down at 10pm, in line with previous orders.

Essential services have been granted exemptions from the time restrictions. These include medical stores, hospitals, laboratories, petrol pumps, CNG stations and milk and yogurt shops.
Call centres and IT companies working with international clients have also been excluded from the restrictions.
The notification, issued with immediate effect, will remain in force until further orders. Authorities have also clarified that takeaway and home delivery services will not be subject to the prescribed time limits.
