Today is a momentous day, the day that etched a shining example of Pakistan’s resolve, courage, and honor on the pages of history.
This is the day when Pakistan’s dignity, prestige, and respect ascended to new heights, when the enemy’s impure designs were reduced to dust and defeat became its fate. This was the moment when truth triumphed in the Battle of Truth, and Pakistan’s green crescent flag once again soared to the skies of pride.
India’s arrogance, which had been nurtured for years in the form of pride and vanity, was brought crashing down when its war plans met failure and its military ambitions suffered severe damage. In the Battle of Truth, several of India’s military assets and air power were dealt a crippling blow in Pakistan’s effective response. All this is clear evidence that the true measure of power is not numbers but resolve, wisdom, and faith. Pakistan’s brave armed forces, through their professional skill and courage, demonstrated that a determined nation can compel even a powerful adversary to bow with a profound sense of humiliation.
Alongside Pakistan’s fearless and brave pilots, the talented members of the missile and rocket forces targeted the enemy’s key military centers with such precision, bravery, and discipline that it stands as a distinguished chapter in the military history of the world. They proved that when it comes to defending the motherland, there is no concern for life; rather, every breath, every moment, and every action is wholly dedicated to the security of the homeland.
O talented youth of my country! Congratulations to you on this great day. This victory is not merely a military success but a triumph of ideology, a success of a way of thinking, and the victory of that resolve which has coursed through the veins of this nation for generations. Today reminds us that nations are built not only by weapons but by passion, faith, and character. Today we have unequivocally shown the world that Pakistan is a living, dignified, and self-respecting nation that never compromises on its freedom and sovereignty.
For the sake of our motherland’s freedom and sovereignty, we have in every era stepped onto the field, filled with the spirit of martyrdom and ready to sacrifice, to protect the country’s borders. It is this very spirit that not only keeps Pakistan’s green crescent flag steadfast but also makes it stronger and more resplendent.
It reminds us that true greatness lies in self-sacrifice along with unyielding determination, unwavering resolve, and the truth of a great purpose. Those who sacrifice their lives for the nation never truly die; rather, they become eternally immortal, and God Himself bears witness to their life in His blessed Book, the Holy Quran.
Paying tribute to the courage, sacrifice, and professional excellence of our armed forces is the duty of every Pakistani. They not only thwarted the enemy’s designs but also made the world realize that Pakistan is a responsible yet indomitable state. I pay tribute to the commander of the Battle of Truth, Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, whose resolute leadership infused the spirit under which this great success became possible. Likewise, salutations to all those soldiers, officers, pilots, and engineers who, without concern for their lives, ensured the defense of the homeland and made it unassailable. Salute to those martyrs, those devoted individuals, and their families whose sons fought the enemy for the country, attained martyrdom, and illuminated the nation’s future with the brilliance of their blood.
And how can we forget those martyrs who sacrificed their lives to protect this pure land from the enemy’s evil intentions, cunning, deceit, and brutality. Those martyrs who merged into the soil yet became immortal—indeed, they attained eternity. With their blood, they nurtured every tree of resolve and courage in this homeland and granted us a secure and enduring future.
If we wish to repay the blessings of God, it is not within our capacity, but we can fulfill our responsibilities with honesty, hard work, and sincerity. This is the path toward which the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, guided us. His saying still serves as a beacon of guidance for us: “Work, work, and only work” leads nations to the destination of progress.
Today we must understand that this success is not an end but a beginning. The real test commences now—that we must eliminate evils like nepotism and corruption and advance our country’s economy, education, science, and technology with the same spirit with which we achieved success on the defense front. If we sustain this spirit, no power in the world can prevent us from reaching the heights of development and prosperity.
India has always claimed its numerical superiority, military strength, and resources. It says its military capability is twice that of Pakistan, its defense budget eight times greater, and its manpower also double. In terms of defense spending, Pakistan’s expenditures have been 62 billion dollars, whereas India’s have exceeded 600 billion. But the Battle of Truth has decisively proven that true power does not arise from numbers or defense spending, but from faith, discipline, and professional excellence. Pakistan has made it clear that if intentions are sincere and resolve is strong, even with limited resources, great battles can be successfully waged.
Pakistan has always exercised its right of defense while respecting international laws. We responded to aggression with a combination of principle, wisdom, and strength because the Pakistani nation and armed forces adhere to a principle-based foreign policy. Pakistan always moves toward peace, but if anyone contemplates oppressing the Pakistani nation, then the armed forces have no option but to employ defensive capability.
It is this balance that distinguishes a responsible state in the world. We have conveyed to the world that Pakistan desires peace, but the enemy who mistakes this desire for weakness also knows how to be taught a lesson—such a lesson that it will remember for generations.
The measure of success of nations in the world is not their population or territory, but their way of thinking, their vision and insight, and their collective willpower. In today’s era, engineers, scientists, pilots, doctors, and students are the vanguard who can transform the destiny of any country. If our youth adopt knowledge, research, and hard work as their guiding principles, Pakistan can rightfully join the ranks of the leading nations of the world.
This too is proof of our boundless love for the homeland that our youth, through education, discipline, and innovation, are defying all enemy estimates. Raising slogans is easy, but nations are not built by slogans—they are built by action. A strong state is one that upholds hard work, integrity, and professional training.
The success we have achieved today is not only military but can also open new doors for Pakistan at economic and diplomatic levels. The path to peace always passes through strength, and we have exercised this strength responsibly, delivering a positive message to the world. As a result, God willing, investment in our country will increase, trade will expand, and the economy will attain stability.
Finally, it is essential to say that this beautiful and magnificent day, which reminds us of the Battle of Truth, teaches us that Pakistan is not just a piece of land but an ideology. This ideology is the name of sacrifice, faith, and unity. As long as we remain connected to this ideology, no power in the world can defeat us. We must preserve unity within our ranks, maintain trust in our national institutions, and impart to our coming generations the values of knowledge, character, and patriotism.
