A fire broke out in a parking lot near the Chhipa Welfare Association on Shahra-e-Faisal, causing a substantial damage and destroying dozens of motorcycles on Monday.
According to initial reports, at least 30 motorbikes belonging to volunteers of the welfare organization as well as individuals working in the surrounding area were completely burned in the blaze.
Rescue sources said the fire erupted suddenly and spread quickly across the parking area, engulfing the parked motorcycles within minutes. While no casualties have been reported so far, the incident caused panic among people in the vicinity.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire may have been triggered by drug addicts in the area, though authorities have yet to confirm the exact cause.
Fire brigade teams reached the site and managed to bring the flames under control after efforts to prevent further damage. Officials said an inquiry has been initiated to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
