RAWALPINDI: Security are reported to have agencies arrested an alleged Indian national from Rawalpindi’s Chuhar Chowk on Thursday, police said, for entering Pakistan without valid travel documents.
According to officials from Westridge Police Station, the suspect was spotted heading towards the Dhamial area. He reportedly turned back upon seeing police personnel, prompting officers to stop and search him.
Police said the man, who identified himself as Dalair Mushtaq during initial questioning, claimed to be an Indian national. He was not carrying any identification papers at the time of his arrest.
Authorities recovered two ballpoint pens and Rs1,750 in Pakistani currency from his possession.
A case has been registered against the suspect under relevant sections for illegally entering and residing in Pakistan. Investigations are ongoing to ascertain the circumstances of his entry and presence in the country.
