LAHORE: Punjab is all set to establish 27 new Sahulat Bazaars across the province which will eventually provide direct employment to over 600 people.
According to details available with MM News, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has decided to establish large-scale “Sahulat Bazaars” to provide affordable and quality essential goods to the people of the province.
Under this project, 27 new Sahulat Bazaars and 13 “Sahulat On-the-Go” mobile markets will be set up in various districts of Punjab, with a deadline for completion set for July.
Key benefits for citizens:
– Items will be available at prices up to 40% lower than the open market and 18% lower than DC rates
– More than 850,000 households are expected to save a total of PKR 5.3 billion annually
– Free home delivery within a 5-kilometer radius in just 40 minutes, saving fuel and time
The project is described as a “game changer” for buyers, shopkeepers, and unemployed youth. It will create 600+ direct jobs and enable 1,300 new businesses.
Shopkeepers will get free electricity, cleaning, and security services, with expected increases of 24% in sales and 23% in profits.
CM Maryam Nawaz said the bazaars will have a family-friendly environment, clean drinking water, and mosques. To ensure security and transparency, each bazaar will have a central control room for camera monitoring.
Locations:
New Sahulat Bazaars will be set up in Bhakkar, Mianwali, Pakpattan, Rajanpur, Muzaffargarh, Mandi Bahauddin, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Khanewal, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Okara, Sialkot, Gujrat, and Sargodha. The mobile markets will operate in various tehsils of Lahore, Jhelum, Bhakkar, Rawalpindi, Kasur, and Faisalabad.
“We will fulfill our promise to provide affordable and quality goods to the people of Punjab at all costs. The lower rates of fruits and vegetables in Sahulat Bazaars will provide clear economic relief to the common man,” the CM stated.
