The Islamabad High Court (IHC) is set to hear appeals filed by former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi on Thursday against their convictions in the £190 million corruption reference.
According to the court’s cause list issued by the registrar office, the appeals will be taken up by a two-member bench comprising Justice Sarfraz Dogar and Justice Muhammad Asif.
The case marks a key development in one of the high-profile legal proceedings involving the former prime minister and his spouse.
The appeals challenge the verdict issued by a National Accountability Bureau (NAB) court, which had previously sentenced both individuals in the reference.
The case has now reached the appellate stage, where the High Court is expected to examine legal arguments from both sides.
Lawyers representing the appellants are expected to present detailed arguments, while the prosecution is also preparing to strongly defend the earlier verdict.
Imran Khan has been in custody since 2023, facing multiple cases including corruption and allegations related to state secrets, which he has consistently described as politically motivated.
