The Sindh Bar Council has urged President Asif Ali Zardari to immediately remove Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori, alleging that he engaged in political activities at the Governor House in violation of the Constitution.
The demand was made through a resolution passed at the council’s 109th meeting held on February 21. The resolution stated that the governor’s involvement in political affairs and use of the Governor House for such activities contravened constitutional provisions and undermined the neutrality of his office. It further declared him “unfit for representing the federation” and called for his immediate removal.
The council stressed that constitutional offices must remain above partisan politics and that a governor, as the federation’s representative, must act impartially. It also warned that no compromise would be accepted on Sindh’s unity and integrity.
Moreover, the council asked the PPPP to clarify its stance on power-sharing arrangements at the federal level and sought assurances that Sindh’s constitutional status would not be affected. The resolution was endorsed unanimously, including by absent members.
