A passenger deported on rape allegations attempted to escape at Islamabad International Airport by jumping from Level Two, sustaining serious injuries.
The man, identified as Mirza Noman Saeed from Rawalpindi, reportedly asked the FIA holding area for permission to use the restroom and then leapt from the second level in an effort to flee. He landed near Belt Number 2 and was critically injured. The PAA medical team immediately transferred him to the trauma centre for treatment.
Airport authorities said the passenger received initial medical care before being shifted to PIMS Hospital.
According to FIA sources, the passenger had been deported from Australia over a rape case. He had been living in Australia for a long period and returned to Pakistan around 10 pm.
Upon arrival, FIA immigration officials had detained him for verification and legal proceedings.
