An advertisement circulating on social media falsely promised men the opportunity to earn one million rupees by impregnating women, prompting police action after allegations of fraud emerged.
Authorities have arrested a cybercrime gang involved in the scam.
According to details, the incident occurred in India’s Bihar district, where police apprehended a group involved in cyber fraud.
The gang allegedly lured men by claiming they could earn one million rupees by impregnating women who were unable to conceive, offering so-called “free sexual relations” alongside the promise of financial gain.
The fraudulent scheme was misleadingly branded under names such as “Playboy Service” and “All India Pregnant Job”. The organised fraud network promoted these fake opportunities across social media platforms including Facebook and WhatsApp, using various titles to attract victims.
Men were persuaded to pay substantial sums in the name of registration or initial charges.
Victims reportedly realised much later that the entire scheme was a scam. Indian police arrested Ranjan Kumar along with a juvenile suspect, and recovered four mobile phones from their possession.
Authorities stated that several individuals lost their life savings to the group.
Disturbingly, many victims did not report the fraud due to fear of social embarrassment.
At the time of the arrests, police urged the public to rely on logic and critical thinking rather than trusting social media promises, and appealed to victims to report cyber fraud cases without hesitation.
