The FKS Group on Thursday secured the bid for the Pakistan Super League’s seventh franchise, Hyderabad, with a hefty offer of Rs1.75 billion, while OZ Developers acquired ownership of the eighth team, Sialkot, for Rs1.85 billion at an auction held at the Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad.
The base price for each franchise was set at Rs1.1 billion. Hyderabad will make its debut in the PSL, marking the city’s first appearance in the league since its launch in 2015.

All 10 pre-qualified bidders participated in a highly competitive auction, submitting substantial bids for the new franchises.
The FKS Group, owned by Fawad Sarwar, emerged victorious for the Hyderabad team after offering Rs1.75 billion, leading the bidding process and securing the franchise rights.
This expansion represents the second major increase in the PSL’s team count. Previously, Multan Sultans were introduced in the league’s third season, expanding the tournament from five to six teams.
The 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League is scheduled to be held from March 26 to May 3, promising another exciting season of cricket for fans in Pakistan and around the world.
