Former Pakistan international cricketer Imad Wasim and his wife Sania Ashfaq have publicly acknowledged marital differences, bringing their personal dispute into the public spotlight.
Following separate statements from both sides regarding separation, the matter has drawn widespread attention on social media and in public circles.
In a recent emotional statement shared on social media, Sania Ashfaq claimed that her home had been broken and that her children had been deprived of their father’s presence.
She said that even their five-month-old baby had not been held by his father so far, describing the situation as deeply distressing for her.
She said that although there were problems during the marriage, she made every possible effort to save the relationship as a wife and a mother.
According to Sania Ashfaq, the situation worsened when a third person entered their marital life. She claimed that the woman in question wished to marry Imad Wasim, which led to mental stress and harsh behaviour towards her.
Sania Ashfaq said she had remained silent for the sake of her children’s future and the family’s dignity, but would no longer do so.

She alleged that she was being threatened with consequences if she made documents public, adding that she would now pursue the matter through legal means. She said her stance was not driven by revenge, but by the need to speak up for her children and for women who are often forced into silence, and claimed to have documentary evidence related to the matter.
Meanwhile, Imad Wasim also issued a clarification regarding his marital situation. In a statement on social media, the former all-rounder said that after careful consideration he had filed a divorce case in court.
He said that differences had existed between them for several years and could not be resolved, leaving no option but to take this step.
Imad Wasim appealed to the public and his supporters to respect his private life, refrain from speculation based on old photographs or unrelated matters, and avoid forming narratives.
He warned that he reserved the right to take legal action if the issue continued to be sensationalised despite his request.
He also stated that he would continue to support his children and fulfil his responsibilities towards them.
Imad Wasim and Sania Ashfaq were married in 2019 and have three children together. The matter has now entered legal proceedings, and public debate has intensified following statements from both sides.
