Dense fog has affected visibility in several parts of the country, disrupting traffic flow on major motorways and forcing closures at multiple locations.
A spokesperson for the Motorway Police said that due to poor visibility, traffic on the M-3 motorway has been suspended from Faizpur to Jaranwala, while the M-2 motorway from Lahore to Kot Momin has been closed to heavy vehicles.
The spokesperson added that the M-4 motorway from Pindi Bhattian to Abdul Hakeem and the Lahore–Sialkot motorway (M-11) have also been closed because of fog.
According to the Motorway Police, the closures are aimed at ensuring the safety of road users.
Travellers have been advised to avoid unnecessary journeys and, where possible, travel during daylight hours.
Drivers have also been urged to use fog lights, avoid speeding, maintain a safe distance from vehicles ahead, and contact the Motorway Police helpline on 130 for guidance.
