Many people would like to have a robot assistant at home or school, but they are often too expensive for common folks. However, Beijing-based Noetix Robotics has attempted to solve the cost problem with the introduction of “Bumi,” its new humanoid robot priced at just $1,370.
The company says the robot will be available for pre-order later this year.
It’s worth mentioning that Noetix Robotics has already made its mark with its earlier N2 model, which received over 2,500 preorders.
What can Bumi do?
Bumi is a lightweight robot built with composite materials. Standing 3.1 feet tall and weighing 26.5 pounds, it is designed for educational and domestic environments.
Powered by a 48V battery, Bumi offers continuous operation for a couple of hours. It supports drag-and-drop graphical programming and allows users to create custom movements and tasks. Bumi also features voice interaction capabilities, making it ideal for household assistance, robotics training, and educational purposes such as learning coding languages.
Bumi can walk on two legs and even perform dance moves. Its camera eyes constantly scan the environment. For example, if instructed to cross a road, it will first scan for oncoming traffic before proceeding.
