Pakistani actor Zahid Ahmed has issued an apology and a clarification after facing severe backlash for his initial comments calling social media “the work of the devil” and stating that content creators would face divine punishment.
During a podcast with Ahmed Ali Butt, Zahid Ahmed made strong remarks against social media, calling it the “most harmful creation” and “the work of the devil.”
He claimed that people creating content on these platforms, especially those who show off their personal lives, were going against Islamic values and would “go to hell.”

Following widespread criticism from the digital community, including popular influencers like Adnan Zafar (Ken Doll), who pointed out double standards, Zahid Ahmed released an apology.

He explained that his comments were aimed at the creators of the social media platforms themselves, not the content creators or influencers.
He expressed regret for using such harsh words and for “crossing his limits in sentiments.”
He admitted he had no right to pass judgment on anyone’s fate, stating that only God has that right.
He emphasized that it was important to correct the message, especially since many young people listen to his views on religion, and he did not want to send a harmful message.
In essence, he retracted the all-encompassing condemnation of content creators and offered an apology for the misinterpretation and the severity of his initial remarks.
