Xiaomi appears to be developing a new smartphone powered by an enormous 9,000 mAh battery, according to a leak from Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station. The device is also rumored to feature 100W fast charging, hinting at a performance-oriented phone designed for extended battery life.
According to a report, If confirmed, this would make it one of the largest battery capacities ever seen in a mainstream smartphone. The tipster also mentioned that Xiaomi is experimenting with a 10,000 mAh prototype, though details about its production plans remain unclear.
Speculation from Chinese media links the large-battery phone to the upcoming Redmi Turbo 5. However, earlier leaks for that model suggest a smaller 7,500 mAh battery, raising questions about whether the 9,000 mAh version belongs to a different project altogether.
In the past, Xiaomi has released China-only variants with larger silicon-carbon batteries while scaling down capacities for global markets. Given this trend, it’s uncertain whether the rumored ultra-high-capacity model will see an international launch.
