Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah, has directed that the first e-challan issued under the e-ticketing system be waived, clarifying that subsequent violations will incur fines.
According to details, a report was submitted to CM Murad Ali Shah by the IG Police regarding traffic violations under the e-ticketing system, saying that 35 government vehicles had been issued challans.
The report noted that e-challans were issued for seat belt violations, jumping red lights, tinted glass, and mobile phone use.
During a briefing, the DIG Traffic informed that a government vehicle (SP AE 950) was fined Rs10,000 for not wearing a seat belt at two locations on the Garden Lyari Expressway. The e-ticketing system automatically processed the violation.

CM Murad Ali Shah requested details of the first e-challans from IG Police Ghulam Nabi Memon, who explained that first-time e-challan recipients can contact the authorities within 10 days to have the fee waived.
The CM said, “I have directed the waiver of the first challan; however, anyone who violates traffic rules again will have to pay the fine.”
He urged citizens to follow traffic laws for their safety, emphasizing that law-abiding behavior is a hallmark of civilized citizens and that police are not above the law.
Murad Ali Shah added that Sindh Police’s modern e-ticketing system is proving effective, and reiterated that all citizens have equal rights, and law enforcement must be ensured.
