Instagram has introduced a new ‘Watch History’ feature for its short-video platform, Reels, allowing users to easily revisit all the videos they have previously watched.
This update eliminates the need to like, save, or share a video just to find it later, a problem that often frustrated users. Until now, once a user scrolled past a Reel, there was no built-in way to locate it again. The Meta-owned platform confirmed that the feature is being rolled out globally and will reach all users in the coming weeks.
Instagram head Adam Mosseri said the feature addresses one of the most common user requests. Many people, he noted, try to find a Reel they viewed earlier but can’t recall who posted it or when. The Watch History update is meant to fix that exact issue.

The new section appears under the ‘Your Activity’ tab in a user’s profile. By opening their profile, tapping the three horizontal lines, and selecting Your Activity, users can access Watch History, which displays a chronological list of all recently viewed Reels — even those not liked or saved.
Moreover, Instagram allows users to filter, sort, or delete individual Reels and even clear their entire watch history, giving them full control over their viewing record. This update brings Instagram’s Reels experience closer to its major competitor, TikTok.
