Prestigious American magazine Foreign Policy has said that Pakistan’s mineral reserves are increasingly being recognized for their global significance.
According to a post on the Pakistan Television (PTV) X account, Foreign Policy highlighted that Pakistan’s mineral wealth spans over 230,000 square miles — an area twice the size of the United Kingdom — and holds immense global value.
The magazine emphasized that international investment and bilateral agreements in Pakistan’s mining sector could yield economic, technical, and social benefits for both Pakistan and partner countries.
To harness these resources, the National Minerals Policy 2025 has been developed, which, according to Foreign Policy, will particularly benefit the people of Balochistan.
The article further noted that there is a special focus on promoting infrastructure, employment, and social development in rural areas of the provinces. In line with this, graduates from Balochistan have been sent abroad for training under the Reko Diq program.

The magazine added that the effective utilization of mineral resources will create new opportunities for Pakistan’s social and economic progress. Under the National Minerals Policy, Pakistan is on a path toward long-term development and national self-sufficiency through the sustainable use of its natural resources.
It added that with international cooperation and technology sharing, further advancements in the mining sector are expected — affirming that Pakistan’s mineral wealth holds recognized global importance.
