A ten year old boy was killed when a fast-moving water tanker hit their motorbike in the Orangi Town area on Tuesday.
According to reports, a child riding a motorcycle was killed and one person injured after being hit by a tanker in Orangi Town No. 1, Karachi.
Rescue officials reported that following the accident, angry locals set the tanker on fire. The deceased child has been identified as 10-year-old Javed.
Despite a ban on heavy traffic during daytime hours in Karachi, such incidents continue to occur. Just last month, several people — including children and young adults — were killed or injured in separate accidents involving trailers and tankers.
On September 13, in Karachi’s SITE area, a 5-year-old child was killed after a water tanker struck him. The child was riding with his parents on a motorcycle when he fell off and was run over by the tanker.
On September 23, a speeding dumper truck killed a young man and severely injured another in Malir, on Memon Goth Road. The deceased was identified as Shah Nawaz, and the injured as Shah Noor.
Later, on September 26, near Defense Mor signal, a reckless tanker lost control and rammed into more than six vehicles, injuring five people, including women.
