In a recent episode of Kya Drama Hai, judges heavily criticized a television series, ‘Main Manto Nahi Hon,’ for its illogical plots, bizarre characterizations, and notably poor dialogue.
The drama starring Humayun Saeed and Sajal Aly, It follows a man who, inspired by the defiant spirit of the legendary writer Saadat Hasan Manto, chooses to write his own truth and challenge societal norms, along with a woman fighting for her voice in a traditional world.
It is a high-budget production directed by Nadeem Baig and written by Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar, known for other successful Pakistani dramas.
But after the first few episodes, the drama is witnessing a nosedive among audiences.

Also, drama reviewer Nadia Khan, famous for taunts while reviewing the drama, said that characters like Miss Maria, Hazarat, and Manto display cringe-worthy behavior and nonsensical lines, such as Hazarat’s sudden obsession with teacher Manto and an awkward discussion of “bromance.”
The judges in the show also discussed the inappropriate and confusing use of the Urdu idiom “Ganjji nahaegi kya aur nichoregi kya” (What will the bald woman bathe/squeeze and what will she wring out?) in a serious scene involving a death, highlighting the script’s lack of contextual awareness and questionable writing choices.
