Okara: A case has been registered against a rickshaw driver, Samson son of Thomas Masih, under the Punjab Sound Systems Regulation Act 2015, on the complaint of a City Traffic Police officer.
According to the complaint, the driver was allegedly playing an obscene song at high volume while driving, which caused public disturbance and discomfort.
The complainant stated that such songs are against public morals and also disrupt the flow of traffic.
Based on the report of the traffic warden, FIR No. 403/2025 has been lodged at A-Division Police Station, Okara.
Police officials said that further investigation is underway, adding that no one will be allowed to violate the Sound Act.
It is pertinent to mention that, under the Punjab Sound Systems Regulation Act 2015, using a sound system or loudspeaker in public places without prior permission is a punishable offense.
