The Sindh government has enforced a one-month ban on all public gatherings, protests, rallies, and sit-ins across the province, effective October 12, under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC).
A notification issued by the Home Department on Sunday states that gatherings of more than five people in public spaces are now prohibited in all districts of Sindh.
The ban has been implemented in response to security concerns and on the recommendation of the Inspector General of Police.
Officials say the move is aimed at maintaining public order and preventing any potential unrest. Station House Officers (SHOs) have been authorized to take legal action against violators under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
The restrictions are described as a temporary measure and will remain in effect for 30 days, unless lifted earlier by the government.
