A severed human hand has been recovered from a garbage dump located on a vacant plot in the Ittehad Town area of Karachi.
According to details, the dismembered hand was discovered in a garbage heap on a vacant plot near Abu Huraira Madrassa Road, within the jurisdiction of Baldia Town Police Station.
The hand was sent to the relevant police station for legal procedures and later transferred to the Sohrab Goth morgue.
SSP Keamari Faizan Ali said that the recovered hand appears to belong to a girl or young female, and seems to be 3 to 4 days old.
He added that the hand was found wrapped in bandages, suggesting it may have been amputated through a medical procedure.
The SSP said it is possible that the hand was amputated due to an illness and was later disposed of in the garbage dump instead of being properly buried. So far, no such incident has been reported to the police.
Authorities are currently investigating the incident from multiple angles.
