Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir met U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House, national media reported on Friday.
On Thursday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Washington from New York to meet President Trump. US Vice President J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio also attended the meeting held in the Oval Office.
This is Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s second meeting with the US President during this week. Earlier, he also met President Trump on the occasion of a meeting of leaders of selected Islamic countries regarding the Gaza issue.
It is worth mentioning that in June this year, US President Trump had invited Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, to a luncheon, but Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was not with him at that time.
Before his meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Donald Trump said during a press conference that he was “meeting with two great leaders. Both the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the Field Marshal are outstanding personalities.”
Donald Trump added, “I am running a little late in arriving, they have already reached the beautiful Oval Office, I will meet them shortly.”
Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, is in the United States to attend the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly. He will also address the General Assembly session on Friday.
