Earthquake tremors were felt in different cities of the country including Rawalpindi and Islamabad, causing panic in the affected areas.
According to details, earthquake tremors were felt in the twin cities Rawalpindi and Islamabad and surrounding areas. Panic spread in various cities of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa due to the tremors.
In Peshawar, Swat, Upper Dir, Attock, and Chitral, people frightened by the tremors rushed out of homes and offices. The Seismological Center stated that the magnitude of the earthquake was recorded at 5.5 on the Richter scale.
The Seismological Center further said the depth of the earthquake was recorded at 195 kilometers underground. The epicenter of the earthquake was in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan.
In the affected areas, people recited the Kalma Tayyaba while coming out of their houses. However, no casualties have been reported due to the earthquake.
