In the most crucial match of the Asia Cup 2025 Super Four stage, Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by 11 runs with destructive bowling and qualified for the final.
In the Asia Cup Super Four match played in Dubai, Pakistan scored 135 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Mohammad Haris remained prominent with 31 runs, while Mohammad Nawaz scored 25 and Faheem Ashraf 14 runs.
Defending the target, Pakistan started with destructive bowling and got the first wicket at just one run, when Shaheen Afridi sent Parvez Hossain back to the pavilion.
Shamim Hossain scored 30 runs and remained the top-scorer, while Saif Hossain made 18, Nurul Hasan and Rishad Hossain contributed 16 runs each.
Bangladesh’s team could only manage 124 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. Thus, Pakistan secured victory by 11 runs and qualified for the Asia Cup final.
The Asia Cup final between Pakistan and India will be played on September 28، which will begin at 7:30 PM local time.
From Pakistan, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf took 3 wickets each, while Saim Ayub grabbed 2 and Mohammad Nawaz dismissed one player.
Earlier, In the absence of Bangladesh’s regular captain Liton Das, Zakir Ali, who was leading the side, won the toss and invited Pakistan to bat first.
From the national side, opener Sahibzada Farhan could only score 4 runs. Saim Ayub, who came in at number three, once again failed to open his account and was dismissed for a duck for the fourth time in the Asia Cup.
