ISLAMABAD — In a positive step for regional tourism and trade, Pakistani citizens will soon benefit from Tajikistan’s e-visa and visa-on-arrival facilities, according to an announcement made after a series of high-level meetings between Prime Minister’s Coordinator for Tourism Sardar Yasir Ilyas and senior Tajik officials during his recent visit.
Tajik authorities assured that measures are underway to simplify the visa process for Pakistani travelers in the near future. The discussions also focused on boosting cooperation in tourism, trade, and economic development.
A key highlight of the visit was Tajikistan’s commitment to promoting barter trade, particularly in the agricultural sector. Both sides voiced optimism about building long-term, mutually beneficial economic ties.
Sardar Yasir Ilyas hailed the visit as a testament to the growing friendship between Pakistan and Tajikistan, emphasizing the goal of expanding business opportunities and strengthening partnerships.
In a separate meeting with Tajik Minister of Industry and Technology Sher Ali Kabir, the two sides underscored the need for closer collaboration between their business communities.
Pakistan also invited a Tajik trade delegation to visit, with agreements reached to boost exports in sectors including textiles, leather, and construction materials.
