ISLAMABAD — In a move to digitize civic services and reduce bureaucratic hurdles, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a new digital facility allowing citizens to register births and deaths through its PakID mobile app.
The initiative has been launched initially in the union councils of Jhelum, Chakwal, and Nankana Sahib in Punjab — districts prioritized due to the disruption of normal administrative processes caused by recent floods.
With this service, residents no longer need to make multiple visits to union council offices. Instead, they can submit applications, upload required documents, and track the status of their cases directly through the app.

According to NADRA officials, the authority is actively working with local administrations to expand the service nationwide. Preparations are already underway in other provinces, and the facility will be rolled out to additional areas once administrative measures are finalized.
Officials emphasized that this development is part of NADRA’s broader strategy to digitize civic services, cut down paperwork, and enhance accessibility for communities in remote and disaster-prone regions.
