BANGKOK: Pakistani bodybuilders showcased remarkable strength and skill at the 57th Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship, securing two gold medals for the country.
The continental event, being held in Bangkok from August 21 to 25, features elite athletes from across Asia. Pakistan’s Ijaz Ahmed and Firasat Ali Khan emerged as champions in their respective weight categories.
Ijaz Ahmed delivered a standout performance, dominating both the Masters category (ages 50–60) and the 80 kg division. He left behind strong competition, with Vietnam finishing second and Malaysia third. Two Indian contenders reached the finals but could only secure fourth and fifth positions.
In the 75 kg weight class, Firasat Ali Khan earned Pakistan’s second gold, defeating three Indian athletes and one Afghan rival to take the top spot on the podium.
The victories mark a proud moment for Pakistan in regional bodybuilding, boosting the nation’s standing in the sport.
