HYDERABAD – The body of journalist Khawar Hussain, who was found dead in his car outside a Sanghar hotel two days ago, underwent a second post-mortem at Civil Hospital Hyderabad on Monday.
The autopsy, carried out by a board of senior doctors at the request of Hussain’s brother, Ejaz Hussain, included CT scans and X-rays, with samples sent for forensic testing.
Police surgeon Dr. Waseem Khan confirmed no torture marks were found, adding that a preliminary report will be issued within two days. The final determination on whether the death was a suicide or murder will depend on the forensic results.
Following the post-mortem, the body was taken back to Sanghar for burial, where funeral prayers were attended by relatives, fellow journalists, and locals.
Probe committee chairman Azad Hussain cautioned that it was too early to conclude the cause of death. He said investigators had examined the crime scene, reviewed CCTV footage, and were analyzing the journalist’s mobile phone and the weapon recovered.
