A new wave of terrorism gripped Lakki Marwat as unidentified men blew up gas pipeline near Bhanna Manji Wala within the jurisdiction of Lakki City Police Station using explosive material, while terrorists reportedly began targeting the homes of police officers in the district.
The explosion, which was heard from a considerable distance, completely destroyed the pipeline. Following the incident, police teams reached the site, collected evidence, and launched an investigation.
Meanwhile, a surge in terrorist activities has also been observed in various parts of Lakki Marwat district.
In Jabokhel village, the home of Inspector Mithal Khan, serving in Sindh Police, was set ablaze, while in Sherikhel village, the house of police officer Ismatullah was also torched.
The incidents resulted in the destruction of valuable household items, motorcycle parts, and a car, causing losses worth hundreds of thousands of rupees.
In addition, terrorists vandalized 30 solar panels installed on a tube well. These continued acts of terrorism have created a pervasive sense of insecurity and fear among the residents of Lakki Marwat.
Meanwhile on Tuesday, KP’s CM Ali Amin Khan Gandapur informed provincial cabinet that security forces were conducting targeted operation in Bajaur tribal district after failure of negotiations between a local jirga and terrorists.
He said that provincial government adopted a proactive strategy and established jirgas to build public trust and enlist community support in the fight against terrorism. He said that proliferation of terrorism would not be tolerated and writ of government would be upheld without compromise.
