Azerbaijan has awarded Field Marshal Asim Munir with the “Patriotic War Medal.” Historical, brotherly, and cultural ties exist between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
According to details, Azerbaijan’s Chief of General Staff Colonel General Karim Valiyev met with Field Marshal Asim Munir, during which important matters were discussed.
According to the Public Relations Department of the Pakistan Army (ISPR), the Deputy Minister of Defense and Chief of General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army visited GHQ. General Karim Valiyev met with Field Marshal Asim Munir. Upon arrival at GHQ, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Defense was presented with a guard of honor.
According to ISPR, various matters of mutual interest and regional security were discussed during the meeting, along with discussions on the global and regional security landscape. Both sides agreed on efforts to promote defense cooperation and regional peace and stability.
According to the Pakistan Army spokesperson, the Army Chief reiterated Pakistan’s deep brotherly relations with Azerbaijan. The Army Chief reaffirmed the resolve to further strengthen bilateral relations. Field Marshal Asim Munir congratulated Azerbaijan and Armenia on the peace agreement.
The distinguished guest praised the professionalism and achievements of the Pakistan Armed Forces in the Battle of Truth. The Azerbaijani delegation expressed good wishes for Pakistan’s Independence Day and Victory Day.
The Army Chief thanked the people of Azerbaijan for supporting Pakistan during the Battle of Truth, and also thanked the Azerbaijani leadership for sending a contingent for the Independence Day celebrations.
