The Government of Sindh has announced a holiday on August 15 for all private and public educational institutions across the province.
According to details, a notification issued today by the Education Department stated that on August 15, corresponding to 20 Safar 1447 Hijri, all government and private schools and colleges in the province will remain closed on the occasion of Chehlum of Imam Hussain (RA).
The notification from the Education Department further mentioned that the decision to grant a holiday in educational institutions on the occasion of Chehlum of Imam Hussain (RA) was made during a meeting of the subcommittee of the Steering Committee held on November 28, 2024.
It is worth mentioning that a nationwide public holiday will be observed on August 14 for Independence Day. The day is celebrated every year with fervor and enthusiasm. The government has announced an extensive program across the country, including flag hoisting ceremonies, cultural events, parades, and tributes to the heroes of the freedom movement.
