The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) once again succumbed to profit-taking on Friday as the benchmark KSE-100 index lost early gains to close down by 264.34 points in negative.
At the close on Friday, the benchmark KSE-100 Index stood at 145,382.79 points, down 264.34 points, or 0.18 percent.
A day earlier, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) had extended its record-breaking rally, driven by strong buying from local mutual funds. On Thursday, the index reached an all-time closing high of 145,647.14 points, marking an increase of 558.64 points, or 0.39 percent.
Meanwhile, the Pakistani rupee continued its upward trend against the US dollar in the interbank market. On Friday, it appreciated by 0.03 percent, closing at 282.47, a gain of Re0.09 from the previous session.
On Thursday, the rupee had closed at 282.56.
