Thousands of people gathered in North Waziristan to protest against the recent surge in terrorism and military operations in the region.
The demonstration, organized jointly by the Pakhtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM), Aman Pasawon, political parties, and the Utmanzai Jirga, took place at the Mir Ali Bazaar, as per Express Tribune.
The march and subsequent assembly saw a massive turnout, with members of the public and representatives from various political parties in attendance.
As a sign of solidarity, Aman Pasawon participants observed a complete shutter-down strike.
The sit-in featured speeches by prominent figures, including Utmanzai Jirga Chief Malik Nasrullah Khan, Mufti Baitullah, Malik Jan Faraz, Political Alliance Chairman Abdul Khalil, former PTI National Assembly candidate Malik Aurangzeb, and PTM senior leader Eid Rehman.
The speakers emphasized that the state has a responsibility to ensure peace and that institutions must fulfill their obligations.
Pakistan has been experiencing a rise in terrorist attacks, which are believed to be orchestrated by leaders of the outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) based in Afghanistan.
