ISLAMABAD: A round table conference will be held on April 15 in Lahore, where the top constitutional and legal experts of the country will gather to discuss the current situation of constitutional violation, which is casting a shadow on the constitution, democracy, and independence of the judiciary.
The conference will be hosted by Latif Khosa, Aitzaz Ahsan, and Khawaja Tariq Rahim under their leadership.
According to information gathered by MM News, the conference will review the attack on judiciary by the parliament in detail, and analyze the effects of the verbal attacks on the Supreme Court with the help of government resources. The experts will also announce a detailed declaration at the end of the conference, which will outline the future action plan.
Delegates of civil society and political parties have also been invited to participate in the conference.
Prominent lawyer Sardar Latif Khosa, while talking to Private TV, confirmed the event and stated that the current situation in the country is against the constitution, and subjecting the constitution to the doctrine of necessity will only harm the country. He expressed his faith in the Supreme Court and hoped for a suitable decision.
The round table conference is expected to provide valuable insights into the ongoing constitutional violation issues in the country and help to identify possible solutions to safeguard the constitution and the judiciary’s independence.
