Imran calls Maryam ‘spoilt brat’, says attacking Supreme Court damages federation

LAHORE: The Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has said that the attack on Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) is damaging federation.

His remarks came PMLN’s Vice President and Chief Organizer Maryam Nawaz blasted, what she called, ‘cabal of 5’ for dislodging her father Nawaz Sharif from power. Displaying pictures of judges and former DG ISI Faiz Hameed, Maryam said ““the five people visible on the screen are responsible for Pakistan’s current situation”, adding that “Faiz Hameed wanted to become the chief. He needed a political face, and his remnants still exist.”

Her tirade echoed even in the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Friday when it took up the Suo Motu case regarding delay in elections in Punjab and KP. When his attention was drawn towards Maryam Nawaz’s anti-judiciary remarks, Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandia said “we will see it later.”

Taking to Twitter on Saturday, PTI Chairman Imran Khan lashed out at Maryam Nawaz, saying that “Shameless & calculated attacks on SC judges by PDM & spoilt brat Maryam, nurtured on corruption money, have one purpose only – to run away from elections even by violating Constitution.”

Imran Khan warned that by attacking Supreme Court of Pakistan, they (Maryam group) are damaging the federation and ensuring law of jungle prevails in Pakistan.

Minutes later, Imran Khan shared a video clip, a compilation of PDM leaders’ statement challenging PTI to dissolve KP & Punjab assemblies if we want elections, saying “now, when confronted, they are petrified of elections knowing they will be decimated. So they are maligning the SC judges & are ready to violate the Constitution to avoid elections.”
