ISLAMABAD: Senate Deputy Chairman Saleem Mandviwalla has tested positive for novel coronavirus on Saturday.
As per details, the Senate deputy chairman has quarantined himself after being confirmed of the infection. On a social media website Twitter, he said, “I have tested positive of COVID19 and have isolated myself at home as per advice by medics”.
“I request all friends & family who have recently met me should quarantine also. I need your prayers & blessings in this crucial time,” he added.

Earlier, Sindh Energy Minister Imtiaz Sheikh and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Imtiaz Sheikh had tested positive for novel COVID-19. The minister in a statement said that he underwent the coronavirus test after feeling slight fever and sore throat.
Pakistan on Saturday reported seven more COVID-19-related fatalities during the last 24 hours, lifting the death toll from the disease to 6,451.
According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), 40,167 samples were tested for the infection during this period, out of which 566 turned out to be positive. The number of Covid-19 cases across the country has reached 309,581 with the addition of the new cases.
On the other hand, the coronavirus has killed 993,463 people worldwide and infected 32,765,204. Around the world, 241,788,346 people infected with coronavirus have recovered and the number of active cases has come down to 7,593,395.
The United States ranks first among countries infected with the coronavirus, with 284,440 people dying and more than 7,244,000 being diagnosed with the coronavirus.
India ranks second in the world in terms of coronavirus cases where the total number of coronavirus cases has exceeded 5.93 million. The total number of deaths from the virus in India has risen to 93,410.
