KARACHI: Land grabbing activities continued near the Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) track in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal area despite the Supreme Court orders to restore the circular railway.
According to details, the concerned authorities refrained from carrying out demolition operations to cover up their alleged corruption. Illegal activities are being done on Railway Plots No. A 174, A47 A, 174 C, 17 St-17 E, 56 E, 57 A5 in Sector 13 of Gulshan-e-Iqbal.
Sources have informed that the land of Karachi Circular Railway worth billions of rupees has illegally occupied by notorious land mafia Kamran Fakhr Qureshi and his Hassan Kala.
Sources further claimed that Railway Housing Society Chairman Abdul Khaliq Farooqi is allegedly patronizing the land mafia. Residents of the Railway Society have repeatedly complained against it, after which they were threatened of dire consequences.
The corrupt officials of Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) received huge bribe and approved maps of six to seven storey buildings on plots of 120 and 200 yards in Sector 13.
Relevant sources have revealed that the land mafia of Karachi has also attempted to illegally occupy the military ground of Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 13A and Railway Park of 13D.
