NEW YORK: Facebook and Instagram seemed to experience major outages today (Thursday), affecting thousands of users worldwide.
According to details, users were seeing a ‘couldn’t refresh feed’ message when visiting the popular social media apps. DownDetector, which uses the geolocation data linked with the social media posts, major metropolitan area in the US and Europe are most impacted.

DownDetector further informed that reports of Facebook going down shot up just before 10.30 p.m., with more than 9,000 reports by 11 p.m. Instagram was worse, with more than 20,000 problems being reported at 11 p.m.
The disruptions affected most of the East and West coasts, as well as Texas, Chicago and Florida. Outages were also reported in Pakistan and across South Asia.
