ISLAMABAD: Japan Ambassador to Pakistan Kuninori Matsuda expressed Japan’s desire to expedite the process of recruitment of Information Technology and healthcare workers from Pakistan.
In a meeting with Adviser to Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis Zulfiqar Bukhari, the envoy said Japan is in dire need of trained manpower in information technology and nursing care. He said that IT companies in Japan are particularly keen to work with Pakistani youth.
He apprised that Japan has launched the ‘Highly skilled Visa’ category to make the recruitment process faster. The IT trained manpower in Pakistan can apply under this category for obtaining a swift and hassle-free visa for Japan.
The ambassador also congratulated Pakistan on successfully curbing the coronavirus. He further said that Prime Minister Imran Khan was the first to express his best wishes for the health of the Japanese President which was highly welcomed.
Zulfiqar Bukhari said that 65 percent of Pakistan’s population is less than 35 years and providing employment in Japan will lead to new avenues of cooperation between the two countries and strengthen the bilateral ties.
He assured his full cooperation in sending manpower to Japan. He apprised the delegation about the hurdles created by the coronavirus pandemic in sending skilled workforce to Japan. “Currently, after struggling through the hurdles created by the pandemic, sending workforce to Japan is my top priority,” he said.
He further said that the government is already sending medical care staff to Kuwait and Saudi Arabia and 4000 nursing staff can be sent to Japan on an immediate basis.
He also expressed his desire to conduct a three-day government-sponsored job fair in Pakistan in which Japanese IT companies can participate for fast and efficient recruiting. The idea was welcomed by the delegation and the ambassador assured to finalise the proposal in the subsequent meeting.
