KARACHI: An Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) team raided the office of the Karachi Development Authority’s (KDA) Lines Area Redevelopment Project director.
According to details, the Anti-Corruption Establishment received complaints regarding the illegal transfers of plots and the preparation of fake documents at the office.
An ACE spokesperson informed that the ACE team has confiscated the relevant records during the raid. In this regard, sources revealed that investigations had been launched against those involved in corruption.
Meanwhile, Sindh Industries and Anti-Corruption Minister Jam Ikramullah Dharejo said in a statement that corruption needed to be discouraged at every level and it was time for people to unite to make Sindh corruption-free.
Earlier in July, Sindh Anti-Corruption Establishment took the notice of alleged corruption in the purchase of 14 suction machines for cleaning sewage lines in the water supply and drainage system.
A team of Anti-Corruption Department headed by Deputy Director West Zafarullah Dharijo raided the office of Ayub Sheikh, project director of WSSB – a crucial project of Karachi Water Board.
The Anti-Corruption team seized important documents and other important records, including the suction machine contracts. Meanwhile, bitter words were exchanged between the anti-corruption officials and Ayub Sheikh.
