ISLAMABAD: The federal administration has finalized security arrangements for the occasion of Independence Day in the federal capital.
According to a letter issued by IG Islamabad’s office, the city’s security has been tightened. Federal police and Rangers have been deployed on the exit routes of the federal capital.
In addition to commandos and elite forces, the administration has issued strict orders for the traffic police personnel. “Citizens should carry their CNICs. When witness any suspicious person, immediately report to the nearby police station,” the statement added.
Ordinary citizens have been barred from entering the red zone. Special passes have been issued to the employees posted in the red zone. The city administration has also warned people against aerial firing, setting off fireworks, and one-wheeling.
The statement said, “The citizens should wear masks, use hand sanitizer, and follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs) to contain the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.”
The officials in this regard informed that strict action would be taken against the people for violating the guidelines on the occasion of Independence Day.
