ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Shibli Faraz on Friday said that the world has admired Pakistan’s steps in the fight against the COVID-19.
On a social media website Twitter, he said the opening of tourism and various business sectors was a positive move.
The minister further said Prime Minister Imran Khan’s strategy of taking health and economy along through smart lockdown during COVID-19 has proved successful.

On Thursday, Planning and Development Minister Asad Umar had said that the government had decided to reopen dine-in restaurants, cafes, cinemas and gyms from August 10 after a closure of nearly five months due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Speaking to the media after a meeting of the National Coordination Committee (NCC), Asad had said that all educational institutions across the country would reopen from September 15. “Covid-19 situation would be reviewed on September 7 before reopening of schools,” he had added.
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases has surged to 279,784 in the country, while the death toll stands at 6,052.
Another 21 people died of coronavirus in Pakistan, around, 727 new cases were reported. While 256,058 patients of coronavirus have recovered across the country.
The number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan is declining rapidly and according to the data released by the National Command and Operational Center, the number of active corona cases in the country is currently 20,886.
At least 15,000 coronavirus tests were performed in the last 24 hours. A total of 2,043,870 COVID-19 tests have been performed across the country.
The number of corona patients in Sindh has risen to 122,273, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 34,359. There are 11,793 patients in Balochistan, 15,141 in Islamabad, 2,116 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, 2,234 in Gilgit-Baltistan, and 93,847 in Punjab.
