KARACHI: The number of confirmed coronavirus cases has surged to 281,136 in the country, while the death toll stands at 6,014.
According to the data released by the National Command and Operational Center, the number of active coronavirus cases in Pakistan is currently 20,886, while 254,286 corona patients have recovered across the country.
Another 21 people died of coronavirus in Pakistan while 727 new cases were reported in the past 24 hours. At least 11,915 corona tests were performed during the last 24 hours. A total of 2,043,870 Corona tests have been performed across the country.
Sindh province registered a total of 122,016 patients, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 34,324, Balochistan 11,780, Islamabad 15,122, Azad Jammu and Kashmir 2,105, Gilgit-Baltistan 2,218 and in Punjab 93,571.

The death toll from the coronavirus has risen to 2,157 in Punjab, 2,231 in Sindh, 1,213 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 167 in Islamabad, 136 in Balochistan, 55 in Azad Kashmir and 55 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Moreover, Federal Minister for Industries and Production Hammad Azhar had earlier announced to open up tourist spots, restaurants, and marriage halls in the country with the relevant standard operating procedures (SOPs).
The federal government has started opening up industries and sectors slowly with the relevant SOPs for industries. The sectors that may now open up will be allowed to resume operations under SOPs after March.
