ISLAMABAD: Outgoing Country Director of World Bank in Pakistan Patchamuthu Illangovan paid a farewell call on Prime Minister Imran Khan.
He thanked the prime minister for his support during his stay in Pakistan. He recognized Pakistan’s efforts towards economic stabilisation and overall reform process including response to COVID-19 pandemic.
PM Imran Khan appreciated partnership with World Bank and wished the outgoing Country Director success for his next assignment.
Mr Illangovan has served as World Bank’s Country Director for Pakistan since 1st October 2015. His tenure ends on 31st July after which he will assume other responsibilities in the South Asia region.
He has held previously several managerial, operational and technical positions in East Asia and Pacific and South Asia regions of the Bank.
His career spans over two decades including leading teams that have delivered complex and innovative operations to World Bank clients in environment and natural resources, water energy and urban sectors.
Patchamuthu Illangovan is a Srilankan national who joined the World Bank in 1993 as an Environment and Natural Resources Specialist.
