ISLAMABAD: Federal Information Minister Senator Shibli Faraz has announced that a national-level committee has been formed, headed by Lt. General Anwar Ali Haider, for the promotion of the construction industry.
Addressing a press conference today (Sunday) along with Chairman Naya Pakistan Housing Authority Anwar Ali Haider, Senator Shibli Faraz informed that the committee will also solve issues related to the construction industry.
The federal minister further said that the construction industry can run the economy of the entire country as more than 40 industries are connected with the construction industry.
“A very important package has been announced to lift the construction and industry as the government is very serious about the success of this project,” he added.
In this regard, the information minister urged the construction industry to take advantage of the government’s new construction policy by the 31st of December. “Sanctions of international organizations would be imposed after December 31,” he added.
“People availing this facility will not be asked about their source of investment. Centre has devised a one-window operation to reduce the processing time required for clearance of documents,” he added.
Commenting on the policy, he informed that the interest rate of five marla houses will be five percent whereas for ten marla houses it will be seven percent. “In the first phase, one hundred thousand houses will be constructed,” he informed.
On the occasion, Chairman Naya Pakistan Housing Authority Anwar Ali Haider said that the federal government was committed to starting construction activity on a large scale.
“The government has eased the procedures involved in obtaining NoCs and maps to facilitate the investors in the construction industry,” he concluded.
