ISLAMABAD: Governor Sindh Imran Ismail called on President Dr. Arif Alvi in Islamabad today (Wednesday).
According to the details, both dignitaries discussed the overall situation of Sindh, with particular reference to Karachi.
Governor Sindh Imran Ismail apprised the President on issues faced by people in the wake of recent rains and electricity in Karachi and the steps being taken in this regard.
The President directed to use all available resources to resolve the problems. Imran Ismail also briefed the President on continuing development projects in Sindh undertaken by the federal government.
Later talking to media, Imran Ismail said that the president had taken notice of the electrocution deaths reported since the rains started, contacting the Power Division secretary, Nepra chairman and KE managing director regarding the issue.
At least seven people, including two children, were electrocuted to death in rain-related incidents in different parts of the metropolis on Wednesday.
While expressing grief at the loss of lives, Dr Arif Alvi directed the officials to take “strict action” after determining the persons responsible.
Expressing his resentment over load-shedding, the president has sought an immediate reply from the ministry over the unannounced power cuts, according to a statement.
Dr Arif Alvi also chaired a meeting regarding the transformation of Kachi Abadis into developed living areas in the metropolis.
