ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has telephoned Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif and Federal Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed to inquire after their health.
According to a PML-N spokesperson, COAS General Bajwa prayed for Shehbaz Sharif’s recovery and offered facilitation in his treatment.
In this regard, Opposition leader in National Assembly thanked General Bajwa for the call and for inquiring after his health.
On the other hand, COAS Bajwa asked Sheikh Rasheed to pay special attention to his health and offered him to get medical treatment facility at any military hospital.
It is worth mentioning here that PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif tested positive for the novel coronavirus today (Thursday); however, Railways Minister tested positive on Tuesday. Both politicians have quarantined themselves at their residences.
Earlier today, President of PTI Karachi chapter and member Sindh Assembly Khurram Sher Zaman has also tested positive for Covid-19.
Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Khawaja Izhar ul Hassan and Jamaat-e-Islami’s Munawar Hasan have also contracted COVID-19 today (Thursday).
Several politicians, including members of the ruling PTI, have been diagnosed with the virus in Pakistan as the government insists on easing lockdown against doctors’ advice.
